During Mental Health Awareness Week 2024, we collaborated with Manchester-based street artist Akse for a fourth time to create a mural of Kurt Cobain, lead singer of iconic American grunge band, Nirvana. The mural was created to mark the 30th anniversary of Cobain’s death to suicide in April 1994 – and to raise awareness of UK mental health charity, Shout.
The artwork is located on the side of The Bread Shed, a live music venue just off Oxford Rd, Manchester – a short walk from where Nirvana played their only two Manchester gigs in 1989 and 1991.
